'Freedom at Midnight' Series Trailer Released: The Demand for a Separate Pakistan, Glimpses of India's Last Moments of Independence

The trailer of the upcoming web series 'Freedom at Midnight' has been released. It gives a glimpse of what happened in the final moments of India's independence. The series 'Freedom at Midnight' claims to tell a historical story. Jubilee fame actor Siddhant Gupta will be seen in the role of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the country's first Prime Minister.

The trailer of 'Freedom at Midnight' opens with the declaration of India's independence by the then British Prime Minister Clement Attlee. This is followed by an attempt to show how figures like Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and former Governor General of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah were caught in dilemmas about the future.

What is in the trailer of the series? After this, the trailer shows how Jinnah's demand for the creation of a separate country Pakistan arises, while the British officials on the other hand devise a strategy to liberate India and partition India-Pakistan.

The star cast of the series 'Freedom at Midnight' series stars Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Arif Zakaria as Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Ira Dubey as Fatima Jinnah, Malishka Mendonsa as Sarojini Naidu, Rajesh Kumar as Liaquat Ali Khan, KC Shankar VP As Menon. Luke McGibney as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Cordelia Bugeja as Lady Edwina Mountbatten, Alastair Finley as Archibald Wavell, Andrew Cullum as Clement Attlee, Richard Tavares as Cyril Radcliffe.

The series will be released on this day Produced by Emme Entertainment in association with Studio Next, 'Freedom at Midnight' is directed by Nikhil Advani. While its story is written by a talented team including Abhinandan Gupta, Unique Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revanth Sarabhai and Ethan Taylor. The series is based on the book of the same name by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. 'Freedom at Midnight' is going to stream on OTT platform Sony Liv from November 15, 2024.
