Vicky Kaushal is a well-known actor in the industry today. He made his mark with films like 'Masaan', 'Saam Bahadur'. Recently, the actor's father and stunt director Sham Kaushal spoke about Vicky Kaushal's struggling days. He said that Vicky was rejected many times in auditions.
While talking to Friday Talkies, Sham Kaushal said, 'I always advised both my sons to focus on studies and sent them to normal schools, as I felt this would inculcate discipline and hard work in them. But I found it a bit surprising when both of them decided to enter the film industry.
The actor's father said, 'I couldn't refuse both, as I was also earning from the same industry. I knew that no one would invest crores of rupees in a film with him. Because I also come from village and worked hard. I believed that if they work hard and work honestly, they will never get rejected.
Sham Kaushal said, 'As an action director, I have never asked anyone to give me work. Sometimes people refused to audition Vicky and said why audition Vicky? But I always taught my sons to face any humiliation. Make it your strength, because if you don't take insults, you won't really move forward.
Vicky Kaushal's father further said, 'Vicky had to face a lot of rejection at the beginning of her career. Not only this, the roles he got were also small. People used to tell him not to do such a role. When he told me all this, I always told him one thing that whatever job you get, don't give up. I told him to listen to his heart. However, Vicky got her first big opportunity after working hard for about 4-5 years.
Vicky Kaushal made his Bollywood debut in 2015 with the film 'Masaan' directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. Rajkumar Rao was first cast in the film, however, after the actor rejected, the film went to Vicky. Both Vicky and film director Neeraj were assistant directors on 'Gangs of Wasseypur' where they became friends.
