Singer Diljit Dosanjh seems to be in legal trouble. Diljit did a live concert in Ludhiana on 31 December. In this show, he sang some songs promoting alcohol. The Women and Child Development Department of Punjab had already issued a notice in this regard to the district commissioner of Ludhiana to stop the singer from singing songs containing alcohol and drugs.
It is alleged that despite the ban, Diljit sang songs promoting alcohol and drugs. Regarding this, Chandigarh Assistant Professor Panditarav Dharenwar said that if action is not taken in this matter, he will prepare to go to court against the singer.
Panditrao Dharanwar said, 'In the year 2019, the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court instructed the police not to play songs promoting alcohol, drugs or violence at public events.'
Notably, Diljit said in a concert in Ahmedabad on November 17 that if the Indian government bans alcohol, he will stop making songs on it.
However, Diljit sang songs like 'Theke', 'Kes', 'Patiala Peg' in a concert organized at Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana with a few changes. Diljit receives a formal notice from the Deputy Director of the Children's Department. It reads that the singer was requested not to sing songs promoting drugs or violence during the live show on December 31. Despite this, he continued to sing those songs in concerts.
Earlier, in a notice issued by the District Welfare Officer of Telangana, the singer was asked not to sing songs like 'Patiala Peg…' and 'Panj Tara…' during the live show.
In response, the singer said during an event in Ahmedabad that if the Indian government bans alcohol, he will stop making songs about alcohol. He said that if all the states declare themselves as alcohol free states then I promise I will never sing a song about alcohol.
