Notably, Vijay Verma is playing the lead role in the web series 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack'. It is based on the true events of 1999 when a flight carrying Indian passengers was hijacked by a Pakistani terrorist group. Web series creates a huge controversy Vijay Verma's web series has created a huge controversy, as the makers have named the terrorists 'Bhola' and 'Shankar'. While the show is based on a shocking hijack incident, netizens pointed out how the terrorists were identified with changed names and accused director Anubhav Sinha of tampering with the facts. Notably, the 1999 incident was the longest hijacking in India's history. These were the real names of the terrorists The terrorists demanded the release of the terrorists who occupied India in exchange for the passengers on board the flight. After the incident, it was revealed that the five hijackers were identified as Ibrahim Athar, Shahid Akhtar Syed, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Zahoor Mistry and Shakir and belonged to a Pakistan-based terrorist group.
