Coldplay concert ticket controversy erupts: Book My Show files FIR, Bhaskar reveals he sold Rs 3,500 ticket for Rs 70,000

Book My Show on Wednesday filed an FIR against the sale of fake tickets for British band Coldplay's Mumbai event. It is not clear where the complaint was made. Just a day before, Bhaskar had exposed the black market of Coldplay concert tickets. We bought a ticket of 3500 rupees for 70 thousand rupees in a sting operation.

A statement issued by Book My Show said that Book My Show is not associated with Viagogo and Gigsberg and any third party for the sale and resale of tickets for Coldplay's Music of the Spears World Tour 2025 in India.

The company said – We strongly condemn scalping in India. There is a law to punish for doing so. We have filed a police complaint. Will fully cooperate in the investigation of the case. Book My Show has appealed to people to avoid such scams. If a person buys a ticket from an unauthorized source, the entire risk will be his own. Purchased tickets may be counterfeit.

What is Scalping Scalping refers to buying event and music concert tickets in bulk. After this, when people do not get tickets, the same tickets are sold to them at high prices. Black has no data of tickets bought or sold. This is direct tax evasion. This causes a lot of loss to the government. The government is shown selling tickets at low rates, while outside they are sold at much higher prices. Apart from this common people never get tickets for such events as the tickets are already sold in black. Those who have money can easily buy tickets at high prices, but common people are deprived.

Currently, only the provisions of Sections 406, 420 of the IPC or the BNS and the IT Act are applicable in this case. Hence the government should make a solid law to stop such illegal activities. Former ACP Mumbai Vasant Dhobal said that if fraudsters are talking like this against Book My Show, they should come forward and explain. Action can be taken keeping in view their complaints.
