According to an IANS report, some protesters burnt effigies of Salman Khan and Salim Khan recently on the occasion of Bishnoi Dharma Foundation Day. Demonstrators gathered in different areas of Jodhpur. Meanwhile, the people of the community have objected to Salim Khan's statement in which he said that Salman is innocent in the blackmail case. People in the community have questioned that if Salman is innocent, why did he need lawyers for cases in Mumbai, Delhi and Jodhpur?

He also warned that Sanatan Hindu Samaj will start a movement against Salman if he does not apologize. People belonging to the community have said, we are Bishnois, we don't malign anyone unnecessarily. When the case was registered 26 years ago, many dignitaries including the then MLA of the Bishnoi community were present. Now Salim Khan cannot mislead people by making false statements. Salim Khan's statement has hurt the entire society. We will make all possible efforts to get justice in the Antelope case. We will also take to the streets and protest.

What is the whole matter? The Jodhpur police registered a complaint against Salman Khan and others on October 2, 1998 in connection with antelope-deer poaching. Bishnoi community filed a case against Salman. Salman was then arrested on October 12, 1998 under the Black Antelope Hunting and Arms Act. After five days, the actor got bail.
Salman was convicted on February 17, 2006 in a case of deer poaching in Bhawad. On April 10, 2006, the court found Salman guilty in the poaching case in the Ghoda Farmhouse area and sentenced him to five years in prison and a fine of 25,000. Salman has got relief from the High Court in both the cases.
