Bhojpuri cinema star and MP Ravi Kishan will be seen as the host in 'Bigg Boss 18' from today. There is talk that he has replaced Salman Khan from Bigg Boss. During a special conversation with Frontpage Insights, Ravi Kishan said that Salman Khan is very legendary. No one can take his place. Let's find out what else Ravi Kishan said during the conversation about Bigg Boss.
There is talk that you have replaced Salman Khan from Bigg Boss? It is not so. First of all I salute him. It is very legendary. One of my very good friends. No one can take his place. He has a very big position. Salman Khan is the host of Bigg Boss. I am co-hosting it. Salman Khan will host on Friday and Saturday and I will host on Sunday. It will have my special segment 'Daiya Re Daiya with Ravi Bhaiya Garda Uda Denge'.
' Ravi Bhaiya Garda Uda Denge with Daiya Re Daiya What is this? I am bringing a different kind of twist to it. One of my dialogues 'Zindagi Zand Ba Phir Bhi Ghamand Ba' is very famous. People are engrossed in this dialogue. I come up with something like this. The types of characters I have played in films and web series so far. It will have a mix of all those characters. Sometimes I will come as the charmer of 'Missing Ladies' and sometimes as the lawyer of 'Mamala Legal Hai'. In this you will see me as Narada Muni along with Bhojpuri and Hindi Rasa.
What did you find special about 'Bigg Boss Season 18'? What attracted me the most was that it was a completely mental game. First of all it is very important to understand Bigg Boss. It is human nature to be interested in what others say. People enjoy it too. The upcoming contestants entertain people with their personalities. I did the same when I appeared in the first season of Bigg Boss 18 years ago. The country loved me so much and made me a star. Arshad Warsi was hosting the show at that time.
You have participated in Bigg Boss as a contestant, now after becoming the boss what will be your attitude towards it? I am not coming to scare anyone. I come to entertain everyone. My aim is not to lecture and preach. I believe that every person has many characters inside. I want to bring out his inner character and present it to people. Now people are caught in the magic of the show. We have to free them from that illusion.
What changes have you seen in Bigg Boss over the years? It has now become a huge show. When I participated in the first season of Bigg Boss, people didn't know much about the show. Bring this show with the concept of Big Brother. Ever since Salman Khan has been hosting the show, it has grown in popularity. Bigg Boss is a huge addiction. He who has once seen, always sees. I can live anywhere by myself. I watch this show regularly.
You have hosted an episode of Bigg Boss OTT, how was your experience? A girl from Kanpur (Shivani Kumari) said something I didn't like. I scolded him and left the show within five minutes. That video went viral. It happens. There will be friction here too. We are not here to make anyone brother and sister. This show is important to me. The contestants will do their job and I will do my job as the host.
When you were told that you have to host Bigg Boss, what was your first reaction? I was very happy. I said earlier that I have participated in Bigg Boss. Now I got a chance to host this show. I consider this as Mahadev's grace and thank Bigg Boss team and channel.
Did you discuss the show with Salman Khan when you were offered it? No, we couldn't talk. I just came from Gorakhpur on Friday. Salman is our friend. We have worked together in the film 'Tere Naam'. I meet him often. We will talk to him when we meet.
Listening to people's problems after joining politics. How do you manage such a huge responsibility of giving time to family and cinema as well? This is Mahadev's grace on me. I am Shiva's disciple, I am his devotee. In my career of 34 years, I have done 750 films including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati. In which there are 450 films in Bhojpuri only. I have become an MP for the second time. From Mumbai I go to Gorakhpur and contest and win there by millions of votes. All this is the grace of Mahadev.
How much has the attitude of industry people changed towards you after joining politics? People loved before and still love. I haven't changed myself, so people haven't changed either. I believe that the way I live, the behavior of the other person will be towards me. The game starts with itself. If we start walking crookedly, people will also walk the same way.
People may also think that if you are busy with politics, how can you give time to films? Many offers come, but I only do select films. 'Singham Again' has just released. After 'Missing Ladies' a script is offered every day. The second season of 'Mamla Legal Hai' is coming to Netflix. Doing 'Son of Sardar 2'.
Currently I live in Gorakhpur. Serves the people there. Can't do all movies. Only selected films remain to be attempted. The script should be such that it touches the heart.
What are you doing to promote regional cinema in Gorakhpur? It is my attempt to build a film city there. I want children from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to be trained and work there. Mumbai is a very expensive city. No need to be shocked after coming here. I want to see countless Ravi Kishans there. I have done a lot of theater promotion there.
