Ratan Tata passed away on October 9. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan remembered Ratan Tata in his show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 16'. Amitabh Bachchan said that once we both were going to London in the same flight. He didn't have cash at that time so he asked me for some money.
Amitabh Bachchan said, I cannot say what kind of man Ratan Tata was. He was really a very nice and simple person. Once we were on the same flight to London. They landed together at London's Heathrow Airport. But the people who came to pick him up from the airport left. In such a situation, I saw him standing aside and then went to the phone booth to call someone. But then he came to me and said Amitabh can I borrow some money from you? I don't have money to call. I couldn't believe how normal he was.
Amitabh Bachchan further said, 'Once my friend and Ratan Tata participated in a program. Meanwhile, Ratan Tata asked my friend, can you drop me at home? I live behind your house. I don't have a car. 'Big B' says it was absolutely unbelievable.
Ratan Tata and Amitabh Bachchan have worked together before. Tata's production company Tata Infomedia Limited funded Amitabh's film Itbaar. But, the film was not successful at the box office. According to a report by Rediff, the Tata Group suffered a loss of around Rs 3.5 crore on the film, after which they decided to exit the film industry.
