  • The arrival of three new guests in the herd of elephants, the whole village under a spell of fear

The terror of elephants in Manpur area of Chhattisgarh is not stopping. A herd of about 45 elephants is camped in the area, causing fear among the villagers. There is a fear among the villagers that they form groups for outside work. Half of the group just looks out for safety. The reason behind camping in the area is that three more new guests have arrived in the herd of elephants.

Local Sukhsingh Kumar said that after around five in the evening, the entire village climbs onto the roof of the house. Those who do not have a paved house take shelter of others' roofs. The fear of elephants is so terrible that the entire village is forced to spend the night like this. Bhanu Shankar of Dhobipara says that elephants enter the village even during the day.
