For the second time, an FIR has been registered against Jayasuriya, a famous actor of the Malayalam industry. The move was taken after an actress filed a sexual harassment complaint against him. Kerala Police told news agency ANI that, 'Another FIR has been registered against actor Jayasuriya under section 354, 354A(A1)(I) 354D in Thiruvananthapuram. A case has been registered after recording the statement of the complainant. Earlier, actress Minoo Munir filed an FIR against him. Minoo had alleged that Jayasuriya physically abused her. Minoo said- Jayasuriya tried to misbehave with me in the bathroom Minoo Munir told news agency ANI, 'One day when I was coming out of the bathroom, Jayasuriya hugged me from behind and then started kissing me forcibly. After some time actor Idvelu Babu expressed his desire to have physical relationship with me. Earlier, Meenoo Munir also mentioned the 2013 incident in her Facebook post and said that she was physically and verbally harassed on the sets of the film. After the Hema Committee report, many actresses leveled serious allegations against the actors. There have been allegations of sexual exploitation of female actors in the Malayalam film industry for quite some time now. A 3-member committee headed by retired Justice Hema was constituted in 2019 to investigate this. After 4 years, on 19 August, the Hema Committee handed over a 233-page report to the Kerala government, which exposed exploitation by several big actors. Ever since the Justice Hema Committee report came out, actresses in the Malayalam film industry have been constantly accusing many big actors and filmmakers.
