South Lady Superstar Nayantara has yet another problem. His documentary Beyond the Fairytale has long been mired in controversy. After the film was released on Netflix, the actress got into legal trouble. Some time ago Dhanush took legal action against the actress, now the makers of the film 'Chandramukhi' have sent a legal notice to Nayantara.
The makers of the film 'Chandramukhi' have sent a legal notice to both Nayantara and Netflix. There are allegations that Nayanthara used footage from the 2005 film Chandramukhi in her documentary without permission. The makers of 'Chandramukhi' have demanded a compensation of Rs 5 crore from Netflix and the actress. Currently, there is no statement from Nayantara's side in this matter.
Dhanush first sent a legal notice, then filed a complaint Before the makers of Chandramukhi, actor Dhanush had also sent a legal notice to Nayantara for using scenes from his film 'Nanum Rowdy Dham' without permission. After receiving a legal notice demanding compensation of Rs 10 crore, Nayantara slammed Dhanush on social media and said many things to him.
Nayanthara wrote in her post, You became a successful actor because of your father and brother, but I had no godfather in the film industry. However, I never thought you would go this far.
After Nayanthara's post came to light, Dhanush's lawyer released a statement, in which he talked about taking legal action against Nayanthara. Also, giving a 24-hour ultimatum, he said that if the footage is not removed from the documentary, a compensation of Rs 10 crore will have to be paid. After the controversy escalated, Dhanush filed a civil case against the actress and her documentary in the Madras High Court.
What is the whole matter? Beyond the Fairytale, a documentary on Nayantara's life, was released on 18 November 2024 on Netflix. The documentary covers Nayantara's personal life and filmography. During the making of the documentary, Nayanthara sought permission from Dhanush to use the songs and visuals from the film 'Nanum Rowdy Dhan', as she was in the lead role in it. However, Dhanush categorically denied this.
Sometime later, when the trailer of the film was released, it used a 3 second visual of 'Nanum Rowdy Dhan'. After this, Dhanush sent a legal notice of Rs 10 crore to the actress. Similarly, visuals from the 2005 film Chandramukhi are also claimed to have been used in the documentary.
