Bharat Deb Verma, husband of actress Munmun Sen and father of Raima Sen and Riya Sen, passed away today in Kolkata. Bharat Deb Verma breathed his last today at 9 am at his residence in Kolkata on November 19.
According to reports, as Bharat Dev Verma's health deteriorated, an ambulance was called from a private hospital in Dhakuria, Kolkata to take him to the hospital. He died before the ambulance arrived. He was 83 years old.
A mountain of grief fell upon Munmun Sen due to her husband's sudden departure from this world. Actress Raima Sen has left for Kolkata after hearing the news of her father's death. She was shooting in Jaipur when she got the news.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condoled the death of Bharat Dev Verma. He tweeted, 'Saddened by the demise of Munmun Sen's husband and my great well wisher Bharat Dev Verma. His death is a great loss for me.
Bharat Dev Varma belongs to the royal family. He belonged to the royal family of Tripura. Bharat's mother Ila Devi was the princess of Cooch Behar and elder sister of Gayatri Devi, queen of Jaipur. Bharat's grandmother Indira was the only daughter of Maharaja Serji Rao Gaikwad III of Vadodara. He was married to actress Munmun Sen. He is the father of actress Raima Sen and Rhea Sen.
