In August, South actress Revathi Sampath filed a complaint against senior actor Siddiqui alleging physical abuse. Now Siddiqui has got anticipatory bail from the court in this case. The court has found the actress who filed a false complaint in this case. The bench said that you talked about an 8-year-old case on social media, but why didn't you go to the police?
Actor Siddiqui's bail plea was heard on Tuesday. During this time, the court granted anticipatory bail to Siddiqui saying that the complainant had spoken about the physical abuse he had suffered on social media, but it took 8 years to file a complaint. The complainant filed the complaint about 8 years after the incident. In 2018, he accused 14 people of sexual harassment on Facebook. However, he did not approach the Hema committee constituted by the Kerala government with his complaint.
Then Justice Trivedi of the bench said to the complainant, you dare to post on Facebook, but not go to the police? Further, while ordering anticipatory bail, the bench said that anticipatory bail is granted as the complainant has delayed filing a police complaint and considering other circumstances.
The court set the bail conditions for Siddiqui As per the condition of the anticipatory bail granted by the Supreme Court, actor Siddiqui will have to surrender his passport till the trial is over and he will also have to fully cooperate with the investigation.
Actress's allegation – 8 years ago she called me to a hotel and raped me Malayalam actress Revathi Sampath has alleged in the complaint that around 8 years ago in 2016, actor Siddiqui called her to a Muscat hotel in connection with a film. She came to meet him, where she was raped. On the other hand, Siddiqui and his lawyer are constantly saying that the actress is only accusing him to malign her image.
After Revathi made allegations, Siddiqui filed a complaint with the Director General of Police that serious allegations were being made against him to tarnish his image. In defence, he said that he met Revathi Sampat in the year 2016 in the presence of her parents.
