Actor Mukesh's explanation on the allegation of asking for sexual favors: He said – I was blackmailed, if I did not give money, I was tricked, actress Minu Munir has made accusations of harassment.

The Malayalam film industry has long been in the limelight due to cases of physical abuse of female actors. Recently, actress Meenu Munir has accused senior Malayali actor Mukesh of harassing her on the film sets and asking for sexual favors to join the Malayalam Movie Actors' Association. Now actor Mukesh has broken his silence on Minu Munir's allegations. He has hit back at the actress and said that she has been blackmailed for money for a long time. Senior actor Mukesh shared a Facebook post and wrote, “Truth must come out, face legal action.” I agree to investigate the allegations against me and all those producers. An impartial and transparent investigation is needed in this matter. Only then will the reality of the allegations being discussed by people come out. The actor further wrote, This political drama took place in the year 2018 as well. In the year 2009, Minu Kurien introduced herself to us as an aspiring cinematographer. She came and met me with a photo album. Whenever someone comes with a desire to work in a film, he only comes with photos. I told him that I would try my best to get him to work. He even later appreciated my good behavior and thanked me. At that time he did not express any complaint about my misbehavior in the meeting. The actor further said that after this meeting, Meenu contacted him again in the year 2022. At that time she was using her name Minu Munir. Regarding this, Mukesh said that he asked me for financial help. He sent me a WhatsApp message in which he demanded 1 lakh rupees. I also got another message saying that if I don't give them money, people from other communities will also interfere. The actor has said that when he did not give the money, Minu's husband messaged him and demanded a huge amount. The actor said, “This gang has been blackmailing me for money for a long time and now they have used it against me as soon as they got an opportunity. I say all this with proof. I have the messages he sent me. I am not a person who can ever hurt someone's personality or dignity. But I am not going to succumb to this blackmailing plot. Meenu Munir Allegation – Misbehavior on Film Sets Yesterday actress Meenu Munir shared a Facebook post, in which she shared pictures of 5 people, including senior actor actor Mukesh, and accused them of verbal and physical harassment. The actress said that she was harassed during the shooting of a film in 2013. The actress also said that she was pressured to quit the film industry. Many actresses have leveled serious allegations against senior actors Recently, Malayalam actress Sonia Malhar revealed that an actor tried to force her during the shooting of a film in 2013. Actresses Geeta Vijayan and Sridevika have also accused director Tulsidas of sexual harassment during the shooting of the film. At the same time, a junior actor has also accused senior Baburaj that in 2019, Baburaj called him at his house and tried to force him. Veteran Malayali actor Siddiqui has also resigned as general secretary of AMMA (Malayalam Movie Artists Association) after an actress accused him of rape. Actor Baburaj is also the joint secretary of this association. Why is the Malayalam film industry in controversy? There have been several incidents related to regional cinema in the recent past, in which women actors have revealed that many big film producers have made objectionable demands from them in return for giving them work in films. Some female actors have said that they were sexually harassed during the shooting. In view of the increasing number of cases, a 3-member committee headed by retired Justice Hema was constituted in 2019, which was closely monitoring such cases. On August 19, nearly 4 years after the committee was formed, the Hema committee handed over a 233-page report to the Kerala government, in which it exposed exploitation by several big actors. As the reports come in, many actresses are opening up about the abuse that happened to them.
