Sensex hits 83,773 and Nifty hits 25,611: Market gains more than 200 points, energy and auto stocks rise

After the Federal Reserve cut interest rates, the stock market has made an all-time high for the second consecutive day today i.e. on September 19. During trading, the Sensex touched the level of 83,773 and the Nifty touched the level of 25,611.

Currently, the Sensex is trading at the level of 83,200 with a gain of more than 200 points. Nifty is also up by 50 points and is trading at the level of 25,400. Energy, FMCG and auto stocks are trading higher today.

The Federal Reserve cut interest rates more than expected

The Federal Reserve has reduced interest rates for the first time in four years. It was expected that the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates by 25 basis points, but it has announced a more than expected 50 basis point cut in interest rates. This has supported the market.

Japan's Nikkei rose 2.49%

  • There is a rise in the Asian market today. Japan's Nikkei is up 2.49% and China's Shanghai Composite is up 0.49%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is also up 1.27%.
  • On September 18, the Dow Jones of the US market closed at 41,503, down 0.25%. The Nasdaq closed at 17,573, down 0.31%. The S&P 500 fell 0.29%.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 10,500 crore on September 18. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 11,794 crore.

However, later the market declined and the Sensex closed at 82,948 with a decline of 131 points. At the same time, Nifty also fell by 41 points, it closed at 25,377.
