Today, on October 29, the day of Chhoti Diwali, the Sensex fell by 426 points and closed at the level of 79,942. At the same time, Nifty fell 126 points and closed at the level of 24,340.
After the day's trading, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 declined and 11 rose. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 31 stocks declined and 19 stocks rose.
The biggest decline in the sectoral index of NSE was in the shares of Financial Services and Pharma. Financial Services shares fell 1.45%. Whereas, pharma shares declined by 1%
Mixed business in Asian market
- Reliance, ITC, Larsen & Toubro and Adani Ports were the top gainers in the market. Whereas, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra dragged the market down.
- In the Asian market, Japan's Nikkei gained 0.96%. Whereas Korea's Kospi closed with a fall of 0.92% and China's Shanghai Composite closed with a fall of 0.61%.
- On October 29, America's Dow Jones closed at 42,233.05 after falling 0.36% and the S&P 500 rose 0.16% at 5,832.92. The Nasdaq rose 0.78% to 18,712.75.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹16,057.19 crore on October 29. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 12,823.77 crore.
The market was bullish yesterday Yesterday i.e. on Dhanteras (29 October), Sensex recovered 948 points from the day's low of 79,421. After the day's trading, it closed at 80,369 with a gain of 363 points. Nifty also recovered 326 points from the day's low of 24,140 and closed at 24,466 with a rise of 127 points.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 rose and 13 declined. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 31 rose and 18 declined. There was no change in one share. Financial services shares of NSE had the biggest rise.

By 4 pm this Afcons Infrastructure Total was subscribed 2.73 times. The company's shares will be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on November 4.
