There has been a decline in the stock market today i.e. on 23rd October. The Sensex closed at 80,081 with a fall of 138 points. At the same time, Nifty also fell by 36 points, it closed at the level of 24,435.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 declined and 8 gained. There has been a decline in auto, energy and pharma shares today. Mahindra & Mahindra was the Nifty top loser with its stock falling 3.22%.
There was mixed trading in Asian markets today
- In the Asian market, Japan's Nikkei fell by 0.80%. Whereas Korea's Kospi saw a rise of 1.12% and China's Shanghai Composite saw a rise of 0.52%.
- On October 22, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.01% to 42,924 and the S&P 500 fell 0.04% to 5,851. The Nasdaq rose 0.18% to 18,573.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹3,978 crore on October 22. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹5,869 crore.
Today is the second day of 2 IPOs.
Today i.e. 23rd October is the last day of 2 IPOs. These IPOs will be of Deepak Builders and Engineers India Limited and Vaari Energies Limited Company. These were opened for issue on 21 October. The company's shares will be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 28.
There was a decline in the market yesterday
Earlier yesterday i.e. on October 22, the Sensex had closed at the level of 80,220 with a fall of 930 points (1.15%). There was also a decline of 309 points (1.25%) in Nifty, it closed at the level of 24,472. At the same time, BSE Small Cap fell by 2,118 points (3.81%) and closed at 53,530.
