Sensex falls by more than 200 points: It is trading at 81,600 level, IT and FMCG shares slip.

A decline is being seen in the stock market today i.e. on 16th October. Sensex is trading at the level of 81,600 with a fall of more than 200 points. Nifty is also down by more than 50 points, it is trading at 25,000.

Today, a huge decline is being seen in IT and FMCG shares. There is a rise in metal and energy shares. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 are showing a rise and 12 are seeing a decline.

Mixed business in Asian market

  • There is a boom in the Asian market today. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index is trading up 0.43% and China's Shanghai Composite index is up 0.40%.
  • On October 15, the US Dow Jones fell 0.75% to 42,740 and the Nasdaq fell 1.01% to 18,315. The S&P 500 also slipped 0.76 to close at 5,815.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹1,748 crore on October 15. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ crore.

Today is the second day of Hyundai India's IPO.

Today is the second day of Hyundai India's IPO. Investors will be able to bid for this issue till October 17. The company's shares will be listed in the market on October 22. The company has fixed its price band at Rs 1,865-1,960. For this a bid of at least Rs 13,720 will have to be made.

There was a decline in the market yesterday

Earlier yesterday i.e. on 15th October, a decline was seen in the stock market. The Sensex closed at 81,820 with a fall of 152 points. Nifty also fell by 70 points, it closed at 25,057.
