The consolidated net profit of the country's largest insurance company LIC in the second quarter (July-September) of the financial year 2024-25 declined by 3.8% on an annual basis (YoY) to ₹ 7,729 crore. The company had made a profit of ₹8,030 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Total income in the second quarter of FY25 stood at ₹2,30,413 crore. Total income in the same quarter a year ago i.e. second quarter of FY24 was ₹2,02,395 crore.
LIC gave 50% return in one year
LIC shares closed 1.52% lower at ₹915.55 today. In the last one year, the company's shares have given 50% returns to its investors. The market cap of the company is Rs 5.79 lakh crore.
What is standalone and consolidated?
The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. Standalone shows the financial performance of only one unit. Whereas, in the consolidated financial report, the entire company is reported.
