The results for the July-September quarter of IRCTC, the online ticket booking service provider of Indian Railways, will be released today. IRCTC's revenue is expected to grow by 4% year-on-year to about ₹1,170 crore, while the company's profit is expected to grow by about 7%.
IRCTC provides catering and tourism services in railways. The company also operates 2 Tejas trains. 12.38 lakh tickets are booked every day through its website and mobile app. The company also provides flight and bus travel booking facilities.
IRCTC shares fell 20% in 6 months, fell 3% today
Ahead of the results, IRCTC shares are trading at around Rs 800, down 3%. This year the company's shares have given negative returns of 10% and 20% in 6 months. At the same time, IICT's shares have increased by 20% in the last one year.
IRCTC's profit increased by 32.75% in the first quarter
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited's profit in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year 2024-25 was ₹ 308 crore, up 32.75% on a year-on-year basis (YoY). Consolidated net profit in the same quarter a year ago was ₹232 crore.
The company's revenue had increased by 11.88% on an annual basis. Revenue from operations stood at ₹1,120 crore in Q1FY25. Revenue was ₹1,001 crore in the same quarter a year ago. IRCTC had released the first quarter results on August 13.
