Gold price and stock market at all-time high: Silver becomes cheaper by Rs 1,161 per kg, 9 out of 10 traders incur losses in F&O

2. 9 out of 10 traders incur loss in F&O: SEBI study claims – 93% F&O traders incurred a loss of ₹1.8 lakh crore in the last three years

The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said that 9 out of 10 individual traders have suffered losses in the equity futures and options (F&O) segment. Market regulator SEBI has given this information in one of its latest analysis reports.

SEBI said in the report that in the three-year time period between financial year 22 and financial year 24, 93% of the more than 1 crore F&O traders have suffered a total loss of Rs 1.8 lakh crore. That is, out of about 93 lakh traders, every trader has suffered an average loss of about Rs 2 lakh (including transaction cost).
