Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata passes away: Breathes his last at Mumbai hospital at 86 Posted 2 days ago – I'm fine, nothing to worry about

Tata Sons honorary chairman Ratan Naval Tata has passed away at the age of 86. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Earlier on October 7, some media reports claimed that Ratan Tata was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Kandy Hospital. His blood pressure was very low. After this Ratan Tata shared a post on social media and said, 'I am fine and due to my old age I went to the hospital for a routine checkup. There is nothing to worry about.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of Tata. He wrote on X, 'Shri Ratan Tataji was a visionary business leader, a kind soul and an extraordinary human being. He provided steady leadership to one of India's oldest and most prestigious business houses. Furthermore, his contributions extended far beyond the boardroom. His humility, kindness and unwavering commitment to improving our society endeared him to many.

He was the chairman of the group from 1990 to 2012 and interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017. Ratan heads Tata Group's Charitable Trusts.
