The stock market is closed today i.e. 15th November due to Guru Nanak Jayanti holiday. There will be no trading in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) due to the holiday. However, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) will remain closed for the first half i.e. from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
MCX and NCDEX will open for trading in the evening session from 5:00 PM onwards. There are two more stock holidays left this year. The next stock market holiday is on November 20 due to the Maharashtra assembly elections, followed by the last stock market holiday of the year on December 25, Christmas Day.
The market closed lower yesterday Earlier yesterday i.e. November 14, the Sensex closed at 77,580 with a decline of 110 points. Nifty was also down by 26 points. It closed at 23,532. However, BSE Smallcap closed up 429 points at 52,381.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 declined and 13 advanced. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 29 declined and 21 advanced. The FMCG sector was the biggest loser in the NSE sectoral index at 1.53%. While the media sector had the highest increase of 2.26%.
