Sensex was down over 50 points: trading at 82,900; Auto and metal stocks tumbled, with Tata Motors falling over 2%

Today i.e. on 17th September, the stock market is showing a decline. The Sensex is trading around 50 points lower at 82,900. While Nifty is trading flat at the level of 25,383.

Today, auto, metal and IT stocks are witnessing a sharp decline. Shares of Tata Motors are down over 2% today. Earlier yesterday i.e. on 16th September the market had made an all time high.

Mixed business in Asian markets today

  • Asian markets are witnessing mixed business today. Japan's Nikkei index is down 2.06% and the Shanghai Composite is down 0.48%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down 1.50%.
  • On September 17, the Dow Jones of the American market closed at 41,622 with a rise of 0.55%. While the Nasdaq closed down 0.52% at 17,592. The S&P500 rose 0.13% to 5,633.

Today is the second day of IPO of 2 companies Today is the second day of the 2nd Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO. They include Arcade Developers Limited and Northern Arc Capital Limited. Investors can bid for both the IPOs till September 19. The shares of these two companies will be listed in the market on September 24.

Yesterday the market made an all time high Before this, yesterday i.e. on 16th September, the stock market had made an all-time high. Sensex touched the level of 83,184 and Nifty touched the level of 25,445 during the trading. However, there was a slight decline after this and the Sensex closed up 97 points at 82,988. Nifty also saw a jump of 27 points. It closed at 25,383.
