Today on Dhanteras day i.e. 29th October, Sensex is trading at 79,740 with a fall of over 250 points. The Nifty is also down 60 points, trading at 24,280.
Out of 30 stocks in Sensex, 24 are falling and 6 are rising. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 35 are falling and 15 are rising. NSE's FMCG, Pharma and IT sectors are witnessing declines.
Mixed business in the Asian market
- In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei is up 0.55%. While Korea's Kospi is trading with a fall of 0.17% and China's Shanghai Composite is trading with a fall of 0.59%.
- On October 28, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.65% at 42,387 and the S&P 500 closed up 0.27% at 5,823. The Nasdaq rose 0.26% to 18,567.
- Foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹3,228.08 crore on October 28, according to NSE data. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹1,400.85 crore.
Last day to bid for Afcons Infrastructure IPO
Today is the last day of bidding for the IPO of Afcons Infrastructure Limited, a company operating in the transport, construction, oil and gas sector.
Afcons Infrastructure total was subscribed 0.36 times in two days. The company's shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on November 4.
Yesterday the market saw a boom
Earlier yesterday i.e. on October 28, the Sensex closed at 80,005 with an increase of 602 points. The Nifty also gained 186 points to close at 24,367.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 were up and 5 were down. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 36 were up and 14 were down. All sectors of NSE remained closed. Shares of public sector banks were the biggest gainers.
