Sensex tumbles over 100 points: Nifty also falls 10 points, all except IT sector up marginally

Today i.e. October 11, the Sensex is trading at 81,440 with a decline of over 150 points. The Nifty is also down 40 points, trading at 24,950.

Out of 30 stocks in Sensex, 16 are rising and 14 are falling. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 28 are rising and 22 are falling. Barring the IT sector of NSE, all are trading with marginal gains.

Domestic investors bought shares worth ₹ 3,878.33 crore

  • In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei rose 0.59%. Korea's Kospi is trading down 0.39% and China's Shanghai Composite is trading down 1.31%.
  • On October 10, the US Dow Jones fell 0.14% to 42,454 and the Nasdaq fell 0.052% to 18,282. The S&P 500 also fell 0.21% to 5,780.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹4,926.61 crore on October 10. Domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 3,878.33 crore during this period.

Hyundai Motor's IPO will open on October 15 The initial public offer i.e. IPO of Hyundai Motor India Limited will open on October 15. Investors can bid for the issue till October 17. The company's shares will be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 22.

Yesterday, the market was bullish Earlier, yesterday i.e. on October 10, the Sensex closed at 81,611 with an increase of 144 points. The Nifty also rose 16 points to close at 24,998.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 16 were up and 13 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 27 declined and 23 advanced. NSE's pharma sector recorded the highest decline of 2.01%.
