Report: Country's working class to grow to 45 crore by 2028

  • Among the sectors with growth potential in the country is emerging technology

India is on track to increase its workforce from 42.3 crore in 2023 to 45.7 crore by 2028, which will see an increase of 3.33 crore employees. According to American software company ServiceNow, 27 lakh new jobs will be created by the year 2028 in sectors with growth potential in the country due to emerging technology. According to the report, retail professionals will have a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills in segments such as software application development and data engineering due to the growth in demand.

Next on the list are manufacturing (1.50 million), education (0.84 million) and healthcare job creation. The reason for which is growth in the economy and change in technology. Sumeet Mathur, Senior Vice President and MD, ServiceNow India Technology and Business Center, said that AI will be a key driver in creating jobs in the country's growth engine in segments that require advanced technical skills. This strategic focus will not only create high-value opportunities for professionals but will also help build a strong digital career. Equipping the country's talent with these essential skills can ensure that India continues to be a leader in the global tech economy. AI systems engineers will also benefit significantly from Gen AI due to the impact of AI technology as well.

In which AI will take over some repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic projects. Apart from that, the platform owners will also be able to save some hours every week.
