RBI Governor Admitted to Chennai's Apollo Hospital: Shaktikanta Das Had Acidity Problem, Will Be Discharged In 2-3 Hours

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has been admitted to Apollo Hospital today i.e. November 26. An RBI spokesperson said that Shaktikanta Das had complained of acidity due to which he was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for a checkup. Now he is doing well and will be discharged in next 2-3 hours. There is nothing to worry about.

Shaktikanta Das was elected as the world's top central banker for the second year in a row

Just last month, Shaktikanta Das was elected as the world's top central banker for the second consecutive year. Shaktikanta Das once again got A+ grade in Central Bank Report Card 2024. The award was presented to the RBI Governor by Global Finance in Washington DC, USA.

Das is a 1980 batch IAS officer

Shaktikanta Das is a post graduate from Stephen's College, Delhi and a 1980 batch IAS officer. He was the Economic Affairs Secretary till May 2017. Das took over as the 25th Governor of RBI on 12 December 2018. After the resignation of Urjit Patel, he was made the Governor.

Even when demonetisation took place in November 2016, Das was at the forefront. Das also served as a member of the 15th Finance Commission. India is represented in BRICS, International Monetary Fund and SAARC.
