Global Capability Centers in India are offering entry-level employees salaries around 30% above the industry average for in-demand skills like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and automation. GCC is estimated to recruit 40% more freshers this year compared to last year.
According to a recent report by hiring platform Teamlease Digital, demand for mid and senior management positions is up 21% this year due to increasing need and importance of specialists like data engineering, product management. These posts are getting up to 11% more salary.
17% of Global Capability Centers worldwide in India There are more than 1700 GCCs in the country. Which is approximately 17% of the world. More than 19 lakh people are working in it. 36% of them are also in Bangalore. According to the Nasscom-Genov India GCC Landscape Report, the number of GCCs in the country could reach 2,200 by 2030. The number of people working in it will also reach 25 to 28 lakhs. GCC's contribution to India's IT industry revenue was Rs 5.43 lakh crore in 2023-24. Foreign companies are not the only ones building Global Capability Centers in India. But at the same time, big Indian companies are also building such facilities to enhance their technical capabilities. In the last four years, Reliance Industries, Adani Group, Dr. Companies like Reddy's Lab have also set up centres.
