Flat trading in the stock market today: Sensex down 50 points and Nifty down 30 points, IT sector shares fell the most

There is flat trading in the stock market today i.e. 18th September. The Sensex opened down 50 points at 83,030. At the same time, the Nifty is down 30 points, trading at 25,390.

Out of 30 stocks in Sensex, 18 are rising and 12 are falling. Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 28 are rising and 22 are falling. IT sector stocks have fallen the most.

Asian market boom

  • Asian market witnessed mixed business today. Japan's Nikkei index rose 0.71% and China's Shanghai Composite rose 0.021%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng also gained 1.37%.
  • On September 17, the Dow Jones of the US market closed down 0.038% at the level of 41,606. While the Nasdaq climbed 0.20%, it closed at 17,628. The S&P500 closed up 0.026% at 5,634.
  • Foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 482.69 crore on September 17, according to NSE data. Meanwhile, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth 874.15 crore.

Third day of bidding for Arcade Developers and Northern Arc's IPO

Today is the third day of bidding for the initial public offering i.e. IPO of Arcade Developers Ltd and Northern Arch Capital Ltd. Arcade Developers' IPO was subscribed a total of 17.41 times in two trading days. The issue was subscribed 21.40 times in retail category, 0.47 times in qualified institutional buyers (QIB) category and 29.99 times in non-institutional investors (NII) category.

At the same time, Northern Arch Capital's IPO was subscribed a total of 10.61 times in two days. The issue was subscribed 11.32 times in the retail category, 0.20 times in the qualified institutional buyers (QIB) category and 22.55 times in the NII category. Shares of both companies will be listed on National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 24.

The stock market saw a boom yesterday Earlier yesterday i.e. on September 17, the Sensex closed at 83,079 with an increase of 90 points. The Nifty too saw a 34-point jump, closing at 25,418. Auto, IT and FMCG stocks witnessed gains. Metals and banking stocks were down. Hero Motocorp was the top gainer in the Nifty.
