Approach: Ahmedabad-Surat share more than 34% among Gujarat investors in share market

The attitude of the youth towards investment has started to change in recent times. The growing awareness among investors towards the equity market shows the growing number of investors. As per an earlier report by NSE Market Pulse, state-wise change in retail client base in five years was in Maharashtra at 19% in 2020, followed by Gujarat at 12% followed by Uttar Pradesh at 8% and West Bengal at 7%. Currently Maharashtra is number one with 17% share followed by Uttar Pradesh with 11% share followed by Gujarat with 9% share due to the addition of young investors. If the daily turnover in the cash market is considered year-wise, the average daily turnover in 2017 was Rs. 20,400 crore in the year 2021 to Rs. 61800 crore which has reached Rs.1.22 lakh crore in FY 25. Thus, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore followed by Ahmedabad and Surat are the top districts in retail across the country. If we look at which districts of Gujarat state have the highest number of investors participating in the stock market, the highest number of investors in the state are in Ahmedabad and Surat 17% each, so 34% of the investors in the state are from the two cities of Ahmedabad and Surat. NSE's Mega Investors Fair 2024 will be held in Ahmedabad on 31st August at National Stock Exchange Ltd.
