All shares of Adani Group plunge: Stocks tumble by up to 20 percent, Sensex down 700 points; Nifty also lost 200 points

A decline is seen in the stock market today i.e. 21st November. The Sensex is trading at 76,800, down over 700 points. Also, the Nifty is down around 200 points, trading at 23,300 levels.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 are down and 5 are up. Today, banking and auto shares are witnessing a steep decline. Shares of Adani Ports are down. While today there is a boom in IT shares.

Mixed business for Asian markets

  • In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei was up 0.83% and Korea's Kospi was up 0.19%. Also, China's Shanghai Composite is down 0.14%.
  • On November 20, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.32% at 43,408 and the S&P 500 closed up 0.002% at 5,917. The Nasdaq closed down 0.11% at 18,966.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹3,411 crore on November 19. Meanwhile, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹2,783 crore.

Gautam Adani charged with fraud and bribery in New York Eight people, including Gautam Adani, have been charged with fraud and bribery of billions of dollars in a hearing in a New York federal court. The United States Attorney's Office says Adani promised to pay $250 million (about Rs 2,110 crore) in bribes to Indian officials to secure contracts related to solar power. After this news, all 10 shares of Adani Group are seeing a decline.

Today is the second day of NTPC Green Energy IPO

Today is the second day of IPO of NTPC Green Energy Limited. A total of 0.36 times was subscribed on the first day i.e. 19th November. The IPO has been subscribed 1.47 times in the Retail category, 0 times in the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) category and 0.17 times in the Non-Institutional Investors (NII) category.

As the stock market was closed on November 20 due to the Maharashtra assembly elections, bidding for the issue could not take place yesterday. Investors can bid for this public issue till November 22. The company's shares will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on November 27.

On 19th November, the market saw a boom

On November 19, the Sensex closed at 77,578 with an increase of 240 points. The Nifty rose 65 points to close at 23518. However, the Sensex saw a decline of 873 points from the day's high. In the morning, the Sensex jumped almost 1000 points. Also, the Nifty fell 262 points from the high. The stock market was closed on November 20 due to the Maharashtra assembly elections.
