Home, kitchen and outdoor business in Gujarat and Ahmedabad grew by 30% year-on-year, with around 20% growth in new customers shopping at the online destination across India. The region has seen a 20% increase in demand for sports and fitness related products. Gujarat has seen a 60% year-on-year increase in cricket-related goods. In addition, demand for yoga essentials across the state has grown by 40% year-on-year. A study was conducted by Amazon.in on the shopping trends of consumers in Gujarat and Ahmedabad. Some of the issues identified in the study include consumers moving towards sustainable living, increasing public interest in convenience, wellness and security, increasing demand for premium lifestyle products, preference for DIY and auto products, said Home, Kitchen & Outdoor Division Director K. N. Srikanth said. As consumers are becoming more environmentally conscious, Gujarat has seen sales of 4,000 solar panels in 2024, besides one electric scooter being sold per day, he added. Sales of premium items also increased by up to 50% Ahmedabad saw a growth of 35% in the large furniture category, with sales of sofa sets and wardrobes increasing by 50% and 45% respectively. In addition, categories including dressing tables and folding chairs have seen year-on-year growth of 50%, 65% and 50% respectively.
