Why was Salman not Salman's favorite in 'marriage'?: The director said- I was looking for an innocent young face, which is why Shahid became the first choice.

Filmmaker Suraj Badjatya recently talked about his film 'Vivah'. He said that instead of Salman in the film, Shahid Kapoor was cast because he knew that Salman would not fit in the role and his age was a bit higher.

Talking to Digital Commentary, Suraj Badajatya was asked why he cast Shahid Kapoor in 'Vivah' even after working with Salman in many films. In reply, Suraj said, “When I flopped 'I love ki deewani hoon', Salman called me and said,” Let us do something together. ” But at that time I had no story for Salman.

But the story of the film marriage was given to me by my father who was based on real life. But for this film I was looking for an actor who could show innocence and I knew that Salman would not fit here because he was a big star. Besides, his age was also increased, so Shahid Kapoor was taken in the film.
