Relief from expensive recharge!: Geo and Airtel reduced non-data plans, whipping 'tri' on telecom companies

Jio and Airtel have just reduced the prices of the calling + SMS tariff plan. Jio has reduced Rs 210 and Airtel by Rs 110 after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

TRAI recently ordered telecom companies to offer their users a different option for only voice + SMS packs. After this, the companies just released a new tariff plan for voice calling + SMS, but kept their price like the data plan and only deleted the data from it. That is, companies updated the old plan by removing the data, but did not reduce the price. TRAI said the calling + SMS issued by the companies just to review the tariff plan.

Customers have no benefit in the new tariff plan Customers do not benefit from the new tariff plan of the companies, but they will be harmed. For example, the earlier Airtel's annual plan was Rs 1999. Customers received 24 GB of data, but the company deleted 24 GB of data and launched the plan for customers only in the name of voice plan.

Now Airtel costs a plan with 365 days validity of Rs. 1849, including unlimited voice calling and 3,600 SMS. In addition, it also offers Apollo 24/7 Circle subscription and free hello tunes for 3 months.

Customers should get cheap packs without data TRAI wants customers to get a data-free pack at a cheaper price, as many users use the phone just to call. But, they have to recharge for calling+SMS with existing data packs, which are very expensive.

Many users use two SIMs, one for calling and the other for the Internet, but both for them. In this case, the government issued a new guideline and ordered the SMS plan to be issued only with the calling. This will directly benefit around 30 million mobile users in the country.

Jio-Artel-VI has made recharge 25% expensive Three major telecom companies in the country – Vodafone -Idea, Jio and Airtel have increased recharge prices by 25%this year from July 3 and 4. Subsequently, Jio's Rs 239 plan was priced at Rs 299 and Airtel's most economic recharge plan has now increased to Rs 179, after which the demand for packing without data has increased.
