Aamir Khan's ex-wife and producer Kiran Rao recently spoke about her relationship with the actor. They said that their love started during the shooting of 'Swadesh'. But at that time there was no internet so it was very difficult to talk.
In a conversation with Filmfare, Kiran Rao said, 'Before mobile and internet, we had many ways to communicate. Internet was not everywhere so sometimes we had to climb mountains to get network. Our romance started in 2004 during the shooting of 'Swadesh'. At that time I was shooting for 'Swadesh' and he was shooting for 'Mangal Pandey'.
Aamir and Kiran met on the sets of the film 'Lagaan'.
Kiran said, 'Aamir is not very filmy. We had many things in common, so we had many things to talk about. Despite being a star, he lives like a common man. Even during shooting he remains completely normal. He looked as if he was a member of the crew.
Kiran said, I knew him (Aamir) well, so I never felt the pressure of his stardom. He knew what I was like, so it was up to him to understand me. I guess they didn't expect me to behave a certain way, so there was no problem.
Even after the divorce, the couple co-parents their 12-year-old son Azad.
According to Kiran, at that time he did not have the clothes that a public figure should have. So when they started dating, she had to change her wardrobe. However, despite her interest in fashion, she did not have enough money to experiment much, so she shopped at cheap brands or street markets.
Aamir-Kiran's relationship lasted for 16 years Aamir and Kiran met 24 years ago during the shooting of the film 'Lagaan'. Kiran was the assistant director of this film. But during the shooting of the film 'Swadesh', love started between the two. Both got married in December 2005. After 16 years, the couple confirmed their divorce in July 2021.
