Indian batsman KL Rahul will be rested for the eight-match white-ball series against England at home, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs. The series will begin with the first T20 match in Kolkata on January 22.
According to Times of India, middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper KL Rahul has been assured by the selection committee that he will be selected in the squad for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and UAE in February.
An official said that Rahul's place in the Champions Trophy is certain. Hence he has been rested from the England series.
However, Rahul has not been a part of India's T20 team recently. He played his last T20 in 2022, but is India's No. 1 wicketkeeper-batsman in ODIs, where he has consistently scored runs in the middle order.
Rahul played in all Border-Gavaskar matches In the Border-Gavaskar series held in Australia, KL Rahul was included in the playing-11 for all the five Test matches. Rahul scored 276 runs at an average of 30.66. Which includes 2 half centuries.
Also out of Karnataka team from Vijay Hazare Trophy Rahul also decided to stay out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Karnataka team will play a quarter final match against Vadodara on January 11. Rahul will not play in this. At the same time, the Karnataka team will not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy even if they advance to the quarter-finals.
