Hyundai Motor India has revealed the first look of the interior of the mid-size electric SUV Creta. Apart from this, the company has also announced the features and power figures of the car. The South Korean carmaker will launch an electric SUV at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The company claims that the car will run up to 473km on a full charge and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds. Apart from this, it will get more than 70 safety features including Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It will be offered with two battery packs 51.4kWh, 42kWh options.
The electric SUV will be available in four variants. These include Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence variants. This will be the company's cheapest EV. Its starting price can be kept at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai will compete with the Tata Curve EV, Mahindra BE6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti E Vitara.
The Creta EV will come with an electric panoramic sunroof
The car will also have a drive paddle shifter along with a gear knob.
Interior: Creta ICE design with dual digital display The dashboard layout of Hyundai Creta Electric is mostly similar to its petrol/diesel version. The dashboard looks quite modern with a dual digital display and physical knobs to control the necessary functions, though since this is the electric version of the Creta, there are a few differences.
It has a new steering wheel with drive selector inside the new steering column. Its lower central console has also been redesigned, now featuring a drive mode selector, cup holders and a switch for the electronic parking brake. The dashboard of the Electric Creta is given a black and white finish and also features purple ambient lighting, while the regular model gets a gray and white color theme with amber lighting.
The EV will get features like dual zone climate control
Features: Dual camera dashcam and vehicle-to-load charging The feature list of the Hyundai Creta Electric is almost the same as the regular model. Features like 10.25-inch digital driver display and touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple Car-Play, connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered driver's seat and 8-speaker Bose sound system are available. .
Apart from this, the Creta EV also gets some new features like the in-car payment service, where you can pay for vehicle charging right from the infotainment screen. It also has a digital key, through which you can lock/unlock your car from your smartphone. The EV will have features like dual camera dashcam, vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging, drive mode, three-point seat belt on the rear seat, adjustable rear headrest, 60:40 split rear bench and 2-step recliner seat.
Exterior design: 17-inch alloy wheels Hyundai has kept the Creta EV's design similar to the regular Creta SUV. At its front, it has connected LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), vertical dual-pod LED headlights like the regular Creta. There's a pixelated grille with small cubes in between, with a charging port below the Hyundai logo in the center. There are 4 retractable air vents on the lower grill, which will keep the electric motor and battery unit cool. The EV lacks front fog lamps and a silver skid plate.
On the sides of the car, there are 17-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design, similar to the Tata Nexon EV. The silver window appliqué seen on the Creta regular model has been replaced with a black finish. It also has a silver skid plate on the side. The rear gets connected LED taillights, similar to the regular Creta. Here, the bottom of the boot gate also gets a newly designed bumper with black trim, pixel element and silver skid plate.
Performance: Range up to 473km on full charge The Hyundai Creta EV has a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor for performance, with three driving modes available – Eco, Normal and Sport. The company claims that this car can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds.
To power the electric motor, two battery pack options 42kWh and 51.4kWh will be offered with the EV. The company claims that the car will run 473 kilometers on a full charge with a 51.4kWh battery pack and 390 kilometers with a 42kWh battery pack. Information about the Creta EV's electric motor specifications has not been revealed yet.
The Creta EV will take 58 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% via a DC fast charger, while the battery will charge from 10 to 100% in four hours via an 11 kW AC wall box charger.
Safety features: 360 degree camera and Level-2 ADAS For safety, the car will get Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features with 6 airbags (standard) and 360 degree camera, which will include safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. Along with this, regenerative braking is provided which reduces the speed of the vehicle according to the distance of the vehicle ahead with the help of radar.
Apart from this, features like vehicle stability management (VSM), electronic stability control (ESC), tire pressure monitoring system and electronic parking brake with auto hold, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child anchor seats will also be available.
Level-2 ADAS features will be available in Creta EV.
