Tata Motors-owned luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover has launched the Made-in-India SUV Range Rover Sport in the Indian market on December 19. The new car has been introduced with features like front seat and head-up display.
The luxury SUV has been launched with two variants. These include the P400 Dynamic HSE and the D350 Dynamic HSE and both are priced at Rs. 1.45 crore (ex-showroom). The price of this car is lower than the price of the locally assembled Range Rover Sport by Rs. 5 lakh is more. Because the brand has discontinued the Dynamic SE variant.
Whereas, a Made in India SUV costs Rs. 25 lakh is cheaper and will compete with luxury SUV cars like the Porsche Cayenne (starts at Rs 1.43 crore) and BMW X7 (starts at Rs 1.3 crore) in India. Over the next few months, JLR will introduce 5 variants of the Range Rover Sport.
Jaguar to launch 8 EVs in India by 2030 Currently, the Land Rover Range Rover lineup includes the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque. Apart from this, Range Rover is also preparing a fully electric SUV. The all-electric Range Rover Sport will be launched by 2025, produced exclusively in the UK.
Tata will make batteries for Jaguar Tata Group announced setting up of global battery cell gigafactory in UK. In this, the company will make batteries for Jaguar Land Rover and other companies. Tata Group to set up global battery cell gigafactory 4 billion pounds i.e. Rs. It was announced to invest more than 42 thousand crores. The 40GWh gigafactory will be the largest in Europe and Tata's first outside India. Production at the new gigafactory is scheduled to begin in 2026.

Tata bought Jaguar-Land Rover in 2008 In 2008, Ford was on the verge of bankruptcy. Then Tata decided to buy Ford's luxury brand Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR). The deal was done for 2.3 billion dollars (Rs 9300 crore at that time).
