The film 'Vanwas', based on father-son relationship, will release on December 20. It is directed by Anil Sharma. Anil made a blockbuster film like 'Gadar-2' last year. 'Vanwas' stars Nana Patekar and Anil's son actor Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles. Before the release of the film, Anil Sharma and Utkarsh Sharma had a special conversation with Frontpage Insights.
Director Anil Sharma said that he has made the film 'Apne'. The title track of the film was – Apne Toh Apne Hote Hai. Today after so many years exile has been created. The trailer of the film shows how people send their people into exile. Anil said how much the society's attitude has changed in the journey from the film 'Apne' to making 'Vanwas'.
Question- Anil ji, why did you want Nana Patekar for your film? Answer- I wanted a character for this film who has lived experience. The character was very complex, for this I found no one better than Nana Sir. Not to play a character, but to live. Nana Sir has lived and not played characters throughout his career. I can definitely say that today's generation will be shocked after watching this movie. He will be very happy to see a personality like Nana Sir in our midst.
Nana Patekar has been active in the film industry since 1978.
Q- Utkarsh, you have worked with big actors since childhood, tell us about your experience with younger ones now? Answer- I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Nana Sir. Meeting him was a fan boy moment for me. Nana Sir always emphasizes that all the actors in the film should do their job better. Nana Sir says that if only one batsman scores a century on the pitch and all other batsmen don't score runs then the team can't win.

Question- It is said that Nanaji is a bit strict, so Utkarsh, were you not afraid of working with her? Answer- Don't know who are the people who call Nana Sir strict. Nothing like that happened to me. We both lived like friends on the sets. Nana also answered this question and said- Utkarsh had two fathers on the sets of the film. One is Anil Sharma and the other is me.
