Aadhaar free update deadline extended for fourth time: No money lost now till June 14, 2025, know complete update process

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the free Aadhaar update deadline by 6 months. Now you can update your Aadhaar for free till June 14, 2025 and you don't have to pay any charges for it. After this, a charge has to be paid for updating Aadhaar. Earlier this deadline was 14 December 2024.

UIDAI posted on X that to benefit millions of Aadhaar number holders, free online document upload service has been extended till June 14, 2025. This free service only myAadhaar Available on the portal itself.

The deadline was extended for the fourth time UIDAI has extended the deadline for free Aadhaar update for the fourth time. Earlier it was extended for three months, while this time the deadline has been extended for 6 months. Earlier this deadline was 14 June 2024, which was extended to 14 September 2024 and then 14 December 2024.

UIDAI says that this free Aadhaar update initiative is especially for people who have got Aadhaar card 10 years back and have not updated it even once.

You can update yourself on the official website To update Aadhaar, users can update their details manually by visiting the official Website of UIDAI, myAadhaar. In this only demographic data can be updated online. You cannot update your biometric information i.e. finger print or iris scan online on the UIDAI portal. For this you have to contact the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center or Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

If you are unable to update Aadhaar yourself, you can go to the nearest Aadhaar center and get it done, but here you have to pay a fee of Rs 50 for updating each detail (demographic and biometric data).

How to Update Address in Aadhaar with Address Proof

  • First of all go to the official site of UIDAI myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  • You have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number to login here. After this enter the captcha code and click on send OTP.
  • After this an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it and login.
  • Now go to Aadhaar update option. After this click on the option of Proceed to Aadhaar Update.
  • After this, on the next page, select the address and click on the option of Proceed Aadhaar Update.
  • By doing this your current address will appear in front of you.
  • After this the option of the address you want to update will appear.
  • Here you have to fill your new address information.
  • After this you have to submit a document which has your new address proof.
  • After this you have to click on both the check boxes below and click on next.
  • Now payment option will appear in front of you. Here you can pay through UPI, Net Banking or Card as per your wish.
  • You will get a receipt once the payment is completed. After this your Aadhaar will be updated in about 30 days.

You can update your address even without documents UIDAI also provides online address updating facility in Aadhaar with permission of head of family. Under this, the head of the household can approve the address of their child, spouse, parent for online Aadhaar address update. Anyone above the age of 18 can become a HOF.

What if you forget your Aadhaar number? Many people often forget to keep their Aadhaar card somewhere and do not remember the Aadhaar number. In such a situation he can download his e-adhar card online. For this the cardholder has to follow these steps.

  • First go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in website.
  • After this enter your name, mobile number and captcha code in Aadhaar card.
  • Go to 'Send OTP' button and click.
  • As soon as you enter the OTP, you will get your Aadhaar related information.
  • After this you can download aadhar card.
  • Apart from this you can also get your Aadhaar number by calling 1947. In this you have to answer correctly the questions asked by the customer care.
