Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and Australian batsman Travis Head have been found guilty by the ICC of violating the Cricket Code of Conduct. ICC awarded 1-1 demerit points to both the players. Siraj was also fined 20% of the match fee.
Siraj violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct. While Head was convicted under Section 2.13. It was the first offense for both of them in the last 24 months, so neither is banned for the match. Both are likely to play in the Brisbane Test starting December 14.
On the second day of the match, Siraj and Head had an argument Australia lost the 7th wicket in the 82nd over. Here Travis Head got out after making 140 runs. He hit a six off the third ball of Siraj's over, the very next ball Siraj bowled him. After this the head said something after which Siraj also said a few words and motioned him to go out. Then Head said something to Siraj while leaving. Siraj also faced boos from the Australian crowd after the over.
Siraj celebrates after dismissing Head.
Head lied in press conference- Siraj “When I bowled him (Travis Head), I just celebrated and he abused me and you saw that on TV,” Siraj told Star Sports Hindi before the start of the third day's play. I just celebrated at the beginning, I didn't say anything to him.
Siraj further said that what he said in the press conference is not true, it is a lie that he called me well bowling. Everyone saw that he didn't tell me that.
I told Siraj well bold- head After the second day's play, Head said in a press conference, “I told Siraj well bold, but he got angry unnecessarily.”
