In India, cow is considered to be revered. The cow has the status of a goddess and is also called 'Mother Cow'. Currently, a video is going viral on social media, the video is so brutal that you might not even be able to watch it. It can be seen in the video that three-four youths come and beat the cattle even slightly. A youth hits him in the stomach with an iron rod. A youth hits him in the leg and head with a shovel while another continues to hit him on the head with a stick. The cow falls down on sight.
Sharing this shocking video, people are claiming that this video is from an ISKCON temple in Bangladesh, where jihadists have entered and attacked a cow. This video is going viral on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
A user named Raj Jana shared this video on Facebook and said, 'Jihadists have attacked a cow shed in ISKCON. This must be seen to understand our future!'
A verified user named Nationalist wrote on Twitter, 'Bhagwanji, I know we can't stop this, because our people are drunk on secularism. But you can definitely stop.
Please use your invisible wand and punish the followers of this evil cult. It hurts my heart to see such cruelty to cows!'
Many other users shared the video with similar claims.
The truth behind the viral video… To find out the truth about the viral video, we searched its related keywords on Google. While searching, we found the Instagram page of a user named Vinay Kapoor, in which the same video was shared on 14 November 2024. In the post, he wrote – As soon as we got the video of some people beating a cow badly in Jalandhar's Jamsher Dairy, we reached the spot and complained about it to the police administration so that strict action can be taken against such criminals.
In the post, Vinay identifies himself as the national chairman of Sri Govind Gau Raksha Dal.
After finding Vinay's post we searched Google for the relevant keyword and found a news report dated 27 November 2024 from KhabaristanPunjab. This confirmed that this video is from Jalandhar in Punjab. …
We also found a copy of the FIR filed on November 18 on the Animal Protection Foundation's Facebook account.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) reacted to the issue after the video went viral. An FIR has already been registered by the Sadar police station under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, Peta wrote. We are talking to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to incorporate the provisions of the Prohibition of Homicide Act, 1955 in the FIR.
