Rohit says- KL Rahul to open in Adelaide: He deserves it, no need to change; Another test from tomorrow

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has ended the suspense of the Indian opening pair a day before the Adelaide Test. He said – 'I will bat in the middle order and KL Rahul will open.'

The 37-year-old Indian captain is returning from the match starting December 6. He was on parental leave and could not play in the Perth Test. In his absence, KL Rahul opened with Yashshwi Jaiswal. He scored 77 runs in the second innings and also had a record opening partnership of 201 runs.

After this many cricket experts including Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravi Shastri asked Rahul to open the innings. Indian team is leading 1-0 in the 5 match series. India won the Perth Test by 295 runs.

In the Perth Test, there was an opening partnership of 201 runs between Jaiswal and Rahul.

Rohit said – It is not right to change the pair of Perth Test

We want results and success. I was at home. Nice to see Rahul batting. The way Rahul has batted overseas, he deserves to open. In Perth, you have such a big partnership with Yasshwi…it's not worth changing that partnership if the runs are close to 500. It was a difficult decision for me personally, but an easy one for the team.

He wanted to enjoy the Pink Ball Test On playing in the middle order in the practice match, Rohit said that this was a practice match, I am not paying much attention to it. I just wanted to experience the pink ball.

Rohit praised Rana and Reddy Rohit praised Harshit Rana and Nitish Reddy. He said- 'Looking at Harshit and Nitish, it didn't seem like it was their first match. His body language looked amazing. You need these players when you want to win a big series.

Harshit Rana took 4 wickets in the debut Test.

Tough decision to keep out Ashwin and Jadeja On the question of Ashwin and Jadeja, Rohit said- 'It is very difficult to keep them out. Both of them are better players and hopefully they will play a big role in the next match of the series.'

Adelaide Test from tomorrow The second match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to be played in Adelaide from tomorrow. This is the only day-night test of this series. In the last tour, the Indian team was bowled out for 36 runs in Adelaide itself.
