South star Nag Chaitanya-Shobhita had a grand traditional wedding. The couple got married at the same Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad, which was founded in 1976 by Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nag Chaitanya's grandfather. Naga Chaitanya's father and star actor Nagarjuna shared the wedding pictures of both. Soon after being shared, the wedding photos went viral on social media.

South superstar Nagarjuna has shared pictures of both on social media platform X. In the pictures, Shobhita is seen in an embellished gold embroidered Kanjeevaram silk saree and heavy gold jewellery, while Nag Chaitanya is seen in a white kurta and dhoti.

Both of them performed Jilakara Belam ceremony together In the images, Naga Chaitanya-Shobhita is seen performing a Telugu Brahmin ritual. Both placed their hands on each other's heads in a ritual. This ritual is called jilakara belam. In this, a paste of cumin and jaggery is given in the hands of the bride and groom. In this ritual, both hold hands with paste on each other's head. This ritual is performed so that the bride and groom support each other in every difficult and good time. It is also believed that by applying the paste on each other's head, the bride and groom connect their thoughts and destiny with each other.

Marriage as per Telugu Brahmin custom
In South weddings, a veil is also placed between the bride and groom. This ritual is called Terasala. In this ritual, the bride and groom cannot see each other before the wedding. This veil is removed after the jilakara bellam ceremony, after which the marriage is considered complete. Also, in South weddings, the groom dresses his bride in a mangalsutra and ties three knots in it. It means that the groom accepts the bride as his wife in thought, word and deed. Peta was also tied on the forehead of Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita, which is tied on the forehead of Telugu bride and groom at the time of marriage.

Nag and Shobhita got engaged in August. According to media reports, the private ceremony of the two took place at Naga Chaitanya's father Nagarjuna's house. Nagarjuna's house is located in Jubilee Hills, a posh area of Hyderabad. Nagarjuna has also shared engagement pictures on social media.
Married to Samantha for the first time in 2017

The marriage broke up before the fourth wedding anniversary. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got married on 6 October 2017 in Goa, first as per Hindu rituals and then as per Christian rituals on 7 October. After marriage, Samantha changed her name to Akkineni. However, amid news of the breakup, Samantha removed Akkineni from her Twitter handle and replaced it with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two were supposed to complete four years of marriage on October 6, 2021, but they separated before then.
