Bangladesh Immigration Police intercepted 54 members of ISKCON at the border who were traveling to India with valid passports and visas. These people were going to India to participate in a religious event. In this regard, the Immigration Police says that despite having valid passports and visas, they did not have special permission from the government.
An officer of the Benapole Immigration Police told the Daily Star newspaper – We spoke to the special branch of the police. From where we got instructions not to allow ISKCON members to cross the border. A group of devotees from different districts of the country reached the Benapole border to go to India. They waited for hours to cross the border at Benapole, but were later told they did not have permission to do so.
ISKCON member Saurabh Tapandar Chelly said – We were going to participate in a religious program organized in India, but immigration officials stopped us citing lack of government permission.
Four members of ISKCON have been arrested so far On the other hand, Kolkata ISKCON spokesperson Radharaman Das has claimed the arrest of 4 ISKCON members in Bangladesh so far. Posting a picture of four Hindu priests, Radharman Das wrote – Do they look like terrorists? All these have been arrested by Bangladesh Police without any reason.
However, apart from Chinmay Prabhu, Bangladesh has not yet made any official comment on the arrest or detention of other ISKCON members.

Bank accounts of 17 people associated with ISKCON seized According to news agency PTI, the Yunus administration has seized the bank accounts of 17 people linked to ISKCON for 30 days. This includes the account of Chinmoy Prabhu. The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) sent its instructions to various banks on Thursday.
The Financial Intelligence Agency has asked the Central Bangladesh Bank to send the transaction information from the accounts of all these 17 people within 3 days.
