Darryl Mitchell is unbeaten with 31 and Nathan Smith with 1 run. England were all out for 499 runs in the first innings while New Zealand scored 348 runs. England team got a lead of 151 runs after the first innings. Thus, in the second innings, at the end of the third day, New Zealand has got a lead of 4 runs.
Before this, Kane Williamson was dismissed after making 61 runs. He also became the first cricketer to complete 9000 runs in Tests for New Zealand. Rachin Ravindra also returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs off 38 balls. Captain Tom Latham was dismissed for one run and Devon Conway for 8 runs.
Chris Woakes and Braden Kars took 3 wickets each for England.
England started the day with a score of 319/5. Harry Brook led the way with an innings of 132 runs. While Ben Stokes started playing with a personal score of 37 runs.
