Priyanka to visit Wayanad for first time since becoming MP: Addressing thanksgiving meeting, Rahul to accompany; He took oath in Parliament on 28 November

Priyanka Gandhi will go to Wayanad today for the first time after becoming an MP. Priyanka Gandhi won the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election in Kerala. A by-election was held here after Rahul Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat. Priyanka will address the thanksgiving meeting here.

Priyanka first reached the Lok Sabha on November 28. He took oath as MP. Meanwhile, Priyanka kept a copy of the constitution in her hand like Rahul. Priyanka wore the famous Kasavu saree of Kerala on her first day in the Lok Sabha.

This is the first time that three members of the Gandhi family, associated with the Congress party, are members of Parliament together. Rahul Gandhi is the Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is from Wayanad. While Sonia Gandhi is a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan.

Priyanka Gandhi took oath as an MP in the Lok Sabha on November 28. Meanwhile, like Rahul, he also kept a copy of the constitution in his hand. Congress leaders welcomed Priyanka when she reached Parliament. Before entering the parliament, brother Rahul stopped her and said – “Stop, stop, stop… let me take your photo too…” In Parliament, Priyanka took the oath in Hindi with a copy of the constitution in her hand. On Priyanka becoming an MP, mother Sonia Gandhi said, “We are all very happy and proud.”

November 23: Wayanad by-election results- Priyanka wins by over 4 lakh votes

The results of 46 Assembly and 2 Lok Sabha (Wyanad, Nanded) seats in 14 states were out on November 23. In the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat, Priyanka Gandhi defeated CPI's Satyan Mokeri by 4 lakh 10 thousand votes. BJP's Navya Haridas (1 lakh 9 thousand votes) stood third. Priyanka could not break her brother Rahul's 5-year-old Vijay record. Rahul defeated CPI(M)'s PP Sunir by a margin of 4 lakh 31 thousand votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

On November 11, during election campaigning in Wayanad, Rahul expressed his love for Priyanka by kissing her on the cheek.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held an election rally for his sister Priyanka in Wayanad, Kerala on November 11. Meanwhile, he was seen in his trademark white T-shirt, with 'I Wayanad' written on the back. Rahul said that the people of Wayanad loved him so much that his entire outlook on politics changed. After coming here he started using the word 'love' in politics. He said that I am wearing an 'I love Wayanad' t-shirt to express my gratitude for the love I have received from you.

Priyanka said before the nomination – I campaigned for my father for the first time in 1989 when I was 17 years old. Since then in these 35 years asked for votes for mother and brother. Now for the first time I am asking for myself.
