The bus accident took place 30 km before Gondia.
12 passengers were killed and 18 passengers were injured in a bus accident in Maharashtra's Gondia on Friday afternoon. Shivshahi Bus (MH 09 EM 1273) of Maharashtra State Transport Corporation was coming from Bhandara to Gondia. The accident took place near Khajari village, 30 km before Gondia.
According to information, the driver lost control of the bus, due to which the bus overturned. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals. Police and administration have reached the spot. After getting information about the incident, the acting CM of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has announced an aid of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

The driver fled from the spot
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the bus has fled from the spot. Ambulance department and police department people reached the spot on the information of passersby. The injured passengers have been evacuated and admitted to Gondia District Government KTS Hospital for treatment. The police have started investigating the case.
Devendra Fadnavis instructed the Collector
Devendra Fadnavis has tweeted on this incident. He wrote, “It is very unfortunate that a Shivshahi bus met with an accident near Road Arjuni in Gondia district and several passengers died. I pay my heartfelt respects to the dead. Even if the people injured in this incident have to seek treatment in a private hospital, they have been instructed to do so immediately. I have also asked the Collector of Gondia to make arrangements to shift them to Nagpur if necessary.
The front part of the bus has been damaged after the accident. An official said that the families of the deceased have been informed. All bodies will be postmortemed.
