Attempt to end Trump-Zuckerberg feud: Once threatened with jail, now invited to dinner at Trump's house

US President-elect Donald Trump met Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday. Zuckerberg, whom Trump once threatened to jail, invited him to dinner at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Stephen Miller, appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff for Trump's second term, gave this information.

Zuckerberg, like other businessmen, wants to support Trump's economic plans, Miller said. Tech CEOs are trying to change their company's image after a bad relationship with Trump.

In an interview with Fox News, Miller said –

Obviously, Mark has his own interests, his own company and his own agenda, but they have made it clear that they want to support the national development of America under Trump.

In January 2021, Mark Zuckerberg banned Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts after the violence in the US capital. This ban was lifted after 2 years in 2023. Due to this, the relationship between Trump and Zuckerberg deteriorated.

Zuckerberg did not endorse Trump before the election Zuckerberg has not openly endorsed any candidate during the 2024 presidential election. However, he praised Trump's reaction to the deadly attack on Trump and also prayed for him.

Zuckerberg also accused the Biden administration that some senior officials in the Biden administration pressured him to censor some social media posts related to Covid-19.

Despite this, Trump continues to verbally attack Zuckerberg. Recently during the election campaign, Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social and threatened to send people to jail for cheating in the 2020 elections. Among the nicknames he used for Zuckerberg of 'Zuckerbucks' was used.

According to Business Today, Zuckerberg has spoken with Trump several times over the past few months. Zuckerberg's meeting with Trump is seen as a strategy to avoid challenges in the Trump administration.
